These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website located at www.royalcharter.org and all associated pages, features, and content (the "Website") operated by the Royal Authority for Commerce and Charters NPC ("RACC", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must immediately cease using the Website.
"RACC" refers to the Royal Authority for Commerce and Charters NPC, a non-profit company duly registered in terms of the laws of the Republic of South Africa, registration number 2025/19518508, with registered address at 468 Berea Street, Muckleneuk, Pretoria.
"Website" refers to www.royalcharter.org and all sub-pages, sub-sites, or related digital platforms owned and/or operated by RACC from time to time.
"User" refers to any person who accesses or uses the Website, whether as a visitor, donor, partner, community member, or traditional leadership representative.
"Content" refers to all text, images, videos, reports, blog articles, project descriptions, data, and other materials published on the Website.
"R250 Movement" refers to RACC's community funding initiative as described on the Website.
"Community Development Projects" refers to RACC's structured initiatives to support rural communities, traditional governance, land and legal access, infrastructure, and cultural rights, which may be described on the Website and in campaign materials. References to such projects as being capable of attracting funding describe their developmental character and not their status as regulated investment instruments.
"Royal Charter" refers to a formal instrument of recognition, mandate, or governance issued through RACC's charter programme in partnership with traditional leadership structures.
"CPA" refers to the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, as amended.
"PayGate" refers to RACC's designated payment gateway service provider as updated from time to time.
RACC is a non-profit organisation that serves as the coordinating and implementation platform for the Royal Leaders of South Africa (ROLESA) and affiliated traditional leadership structures. The Website provides information about RACC's programmes, Community Development Projects, land and legal support, infrastructure initiatives, and cultural and governance work.
The Website is not a financial services platform, investment exchange, or solicitation for financial products regulated under the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 9 of 2017 or the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002. Where the Website describes projects as capable of attracting philanthropic, developmental, or aligned funding, such descriptions relate to Community Development Projects in the sense defined in clause 2.6 above and do not constitute an offer, solicitation, or representation that any donation will be directed to any specific project, community, or outcome. Donors accept this characterisation as a condition of their engagement with RACC.
RACC works in partnership with the Chartered Institute for Business Accountants NPC (CIBA) to provide professional oversight and accountability across its programmes. RACC is committed to transparency and governance in the application of donor funds, and publishes organisational information on its website from time to time, while retaining full discretion over the application of donations as set out in clause 5.4.
Permitted Use
You may access and use the Website for lawful purposes, including to obtain information about RACC's work, engage with published content, contact RACC, or participate in the R250 Movement. You may not use the Website for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.
